SparkFun XBee Explorer Serial Base Unit, WRL-13225

The SparkFun XBee Explorer Serial is an easy-to-use RS232-to-serial base unit designed for configuring and communicating with XBee wireless modules. Simply plug in your XBee module and connect an RS232 cable to gain direct access to serial and programming pins. It is an ideal development tool for makers, students, and engineers working on wireless serial communication projects.

Broad XBee module compatibility

This base unit works with a wide range of XBee devices, including Series 1 and Series 2.5 modules in both standard and Pro form factors.

Serial programming and configuration

The board provides direct access to the serial pins and supports DTR communication, allowing you to easily reprogram and configure connected XBee units.

Hardware operating mode notice

Please note that the PCB defaults to DCE mode and works normally, but due to a board jumper limitation it cannot be switched into DTE mode.
