SparkFun Wixel 2.4 GHz Wireless Controller Module

The Wixel is a versatile wireless microcontroller module based on the Texas Instruments CC2511F32. It enables 2.4 GHz radio communication, USB connectivity, and embedded control in a compact, breadboard-friendly form factor. It is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers looking to add wireless serial links or standalone control to their robotics projects.

Wireless communication and processing

Powered by a CC2511F32 microcontroller, the Wixel integrates a 2.4 GHz radio offering 256 dynamically configurable channels. It includes 32 KB of flash memory with 29 KB available for application code, alongside 4 KB of RAM for custom programs.

Flexible input and output options

The board provides 15 user I/O lines, which include 6 analog inputs, 2 USART interfaces for serial or SPI, and 7 timer channels capable of PWM output. It also features three onboard indicator LEDs and standard 0.1-inch pin spacing for perfboards and breadboards.

Easy programming and open-source apps

A built-in USB bootloader allows you to upload custom C applications using the Wixel SDK or load precompiled open-source apps using the Wixel Configuration Utility without an external programmer. Modules can serve as USB-to-serial adapters, standalone controllers, or multi-node wireless network links.
