The Hiwonder ArmPi Ultra is an advanced desktop ROS2 robotic arm designed for cutting-edge robotics education and research. Powered by a Raspberry Pi 5 and STM32 dual-controller system, it is ideal for South African students, educators, and makers exploring embodied AI. This versatile platform integrates 3D depth vision, AI voice interaction, and multimodal large language models to deliver a complete hands-on learning experience.
3D depth camera vision
Equipped with a high-performance 3D depth camera, the robotic arm combines RGB and depth fusion detection to recognise and track targets. This allows the arm to perform precise, flexible grabbing and manipulation of objects in 3D space.

All-metal structure with bearing base
The robot arm features an anodised all-metal body that is both durable and aesthetically refined. It utilises industrial-grade bearings in its base to handle high-demand grabbing projects and ensure smooth rotation.

High-torque smart bus servos
The arm is equipped with six high-torque intelligent bus servos along its body. These servos provide the necessary strength to lift heavy objects while maintaining smooth and precise motion control.

WonderEcho Pro AI voice box
This module delivers advanced noise reduction and clear audio capture for speech recognition and voice broadcast. It enables direct voice control and interactive audio responses during operation.

Dual-controller processing architecture
The system pairs a Raspberry Pi 5 with an STM32 co-processor to split computational tasks efficiently. The Raspberry Pi 5 handles high-level vision processing and AI decision-making, while the STM32 manages real-time servo control.

Embodied AI with multimodal models
By integrating multimodal AI large language models, the arm achieves cross-modal perception across text, voice, and images. This enables more natural, creative, and complex interactions between the user and the robot.

Intelligent colour sorting and tracking
Combining ChatGPT integration with AI vision, the robotic arm can detect object colours within its field of view. It automatically sorts and tracks targets based on voice commands or visual cues.
