The HiWonder MechDog is a palm-sized, open-source quadruped robot dog powered by an ESP32 controller and an ESP32-S3 AI vision module. Ideal for students, educators, and hobbyists, this 8-DOF kit supports Python, Scratch, and Arduino programming to explore advanced robotics, computer vision, and voice interaction.

Equipped with an ESP32-S3 vision module, the robot performs real-time colour recognition, object tracking, face recognition, and line following. High-definition video can be streamed directly to your PC or mobile app over a local WiFi connection.

The integrated glowy ultrasonic sensor measures distance to obstacles while providing real-time feedback through customisable RGB light colours. This sensor communicates via an I2C interface to minimise CPU resource usage.

An onboard IMU sensor tracks the robot's orientation and posture in real time. This feedback loop allows the quadruped to adjust its body height and maintain balance dynamically while walking.

An AI voice interaction module enables voice recognition, voice control, and speech broadcasting up to a five-metre range. Users can program custom wake words, voice commands, and audio alerts.

The robot can be paired with a micro:bit for dual-controller setups, or expanded with LEGO blocks, touch sensors, light sensors, and a 2-DOF robotic arm. A robust aluminium alloy frame protects the internal components during experimentation.
