Description
The Hiwonder ArmPi FPV is an open-source, ROS-based AI robotic arm powered by the Raspberry Pi 5, designed for advanced vision recognition and precise manipulation. Equipped with high-performance intelligent servos and a wide-angle camera, this versatile platform is ideal for students, educators, and hobbyists exploring machine vision and robotics. It offers full Python programmability to help you prototype and build intelligent automated systems.
ROS-based open source robotic arm
Built on the Robot Operating System (ROS), this robotic arm combines high-performance intelligent servos with an AI camera for precise vision recognition and gripping. It provides an ideal platform for educational projects, prototyping, and hands-on AI experimentation.

First-person view with wide-angle camera
Featuring a 120-degree wide-angle camera, the arm processes images using the OpenCV library to enable first-person view capabilities. This allows the system to perform advanced tasks such as colour recognition, colour sorting, target tracking, and intelligent palletising.

High-performance servos and duralumin claw
The robotic arm is driven by powerful, high-performance servos that ensure precise, strong movements. The arm is completed with a durable duralumin alloy mechanical claw at the end for secure gripping.

AI image recognition and inverse kinematics
Using OpenCV for image processing, the system detects targets in its field of view and calculates their exact coordinates and angles. It combines this visual data with an inverse kinematics algorithm to execute precise, automated grasping.

Automated logistics and smart storage
This high-precision vision robotic arm simulates real-world warehouse automation through AI-driven recognition. It allows users to develop systems for fully automated smart storage, accurate item retrieval, and seamless material handling.

Intuitive mobile app control
Easily manipulate the arm using the companion iOS and Android application, which features a two-dimensional visual drag-and-drop interface. You can control movements directly by dragging the virtual joints or using the on-screen buttons.

Fully open-source Python programming
The robotic arm fully supports Python programming, making it highly accessible for custom development. All intelligent Python code is open-source and includes detailed annotations to support self-study and rapid learning.

Raspberry Pi motion control platform
Powered by a Raspberry Pi 4B or 5 controller, this platform provides the processing power needed for complex tasks. It serves as an excellent foundation for embarking on motion control, machine vision, and OpenCV projects.
