Description

The W5500 Ethernet with POE IoT Board combines an ATmega32u4 microcontroller with an integrated WIZnet W5500 Ethernet controller on an Arduino Leonardo footprint. Designed for makers, students, and engineers, it provides reliable hardwired network connectivity and power delivery over a single Ethernet cable for IoT and automation projects.

ATmega32u4 processing core

Powered by an Atmel ATmega32u4 running at 16 MHz, the board includes 32 KB of flash memory, 2 KB of SRAM, and 1 KB of EEPROM. It offers direct pinout and software compatibility with the Arduino Leonardo platform.

Hardwired W5500 Ethernet interface

The onboard WIZnet W5500 chip integrates a hardwired TCP/IP stack, 10/100 Ethernet MAC, and PHY. It communicates via a high-efficiency SPI interface supporting clock speeds up to 80 MHz, alongside Wake on LAN (WOL) and power-down modes.

802.3af Power over Ethernet support

Equipped with an 802.3af standard Power over Ethernet receiver, the board operates directly from 48V AC/DC network lines. The V2.0 hardware revision features an upgraded power regulation circuit for stable power delivery in demanding environments.

Flexible power input options

In addition to PoE, the board accepts external DC power between 7V and 20V via its power plug, with operational input limits spanning 6V to 23V.

Standard I/O and shield compatibility

The board provides 20 digital I/O pins delivering up to 40 mA each and 6 analogue input pins within a compact 73.5 x 53.5 x 15 mm footprint. Its layout maintains compatibility with standard Arduino shields and sensor modules.
