SparkFun Blynk Board ESP8266 IoT Development Board

The SparkFun Blynk Board is an ESP8266-based development board designed for seamless control and monitoring via the Blynk mobile app. It allows makers, students, and hobbyists to create connected Internet of Things projects straight out of the box without needing to write complex code. With built-in Wi-Fi, sensors, and alligator-clip-friendly pads, it offers a quick and accessible pathway into smart hardware design.

Integrated sensors and hardware

The board features an on-board Si7021 temperature and humidity sensor, a WS2812 RGB LED for multi-coloured status feedback, a general-purpose LED, and a push button. An integrated LiPo battery charger allows for portable use, while the ADC is scaled to 0-3.3V for reading external analogue inputs.

Solderless alligator clip connections

Large, metal-encircled edge pads enable quick hardware prototyping using standard alligator clips without any soldering required. Dedicated expansion connectors are also provided for I2C devices and WS2812 output strips.

Instant Blynk app setup

Pre-loaded with over a dozen ready-to-run projects, the board links directly to custom widget dashboards on iOS and Android. A Blynk subscription code card with 15k Energy is included to quickly link the board to your account over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

Arduino programmable

While fully operational without programming, the board includes an on-board FTDI interface that allows advanced makers to reprogram the ESP8266 using the Arduino environment.
