Self-powered Wireless Switch (BLE Beacon)

The Self-powered Wireless Switch (BLE Beacon) is a battery-free and wire-free control module that transmits BLE 5.3 signals across a 40-metre range. It harvests kinetic energy from every press to power its RF circuitry, making it ideal for students, makers, and educators designing maintenance-free smart home and monitoring projects.

Kinetic power generation

An integrated micro power generator converts mechanical movement into 250 microjoules of electrical energy per press. This energy is stored and used immediately for transmission, eliminating battery replacements, wire routing, and corrosion concerns in long-term installations.

Bluetooth 5.3 wireless transmission

The module broadcasts beacon signals at 2.4GHz with 1Mbps GFSK modulation directly to smartphones and microcontrollers such as the ESP32. Operating over advertising channels 37, 38, and 39, it eliminates the need for dedicated proprietary receivers over outdoor distances exceeding 40 metres.

Unique addressing and interference resistance

Every switch is factory-configured with a unique 6-byte address code for secure and reliable packet identification. This prevents cross-talk and ensures dependable trigger signals even in busy radio-frequency environments.

Durable tactile actuation

Built for long operational lifecycles, the switch withstands up to 100,000 presses. It features an actuation travel distance of 1.3mm with a 1300g actuation force and supports press frequencies of up to 2 actuations per second.

Compact form factor and kit contents

Measuring 44 x 22 x 11mm and weighing approximately 14g, the compact board fits easily into custom enclosures, doorbells, and wall switches. The package includes one self-powered BLE beacon switch and one 2.4G FPC IPEX1 antenna.
