Description
The RRC Lite Controller is an open-source robot controller powered by a high-performance STM32 chip, designed specifically for advanced robotics projects. It is an ideal choice for South African students, educators, and makers building mobile robots, robotic arms, or Raspberry Pi-powered systems. With its rich array of motor, servo, and sensor interfaces, this board simplifies complex hardware integration.
High-performance STM32F407VET6 main control
Built on a Cortex-M4 core running at 168MHz, this controller includes an integrated FPU and a Murata crystal oscillator. It delivers the speed and stability required for complex real-time processing in demanding robotics applications.

Raspberry Pi 5 power delivery
An on-board PD fast-charging chip supports the Raspberry Pi 5 power supply protocol, delivering up to 5V/5A. This overcomes standard USB current limitations to reliably power your single-board computer alongside the controller.

Four-channel encoder motor drive
The controller drives up to four encoder motors with precise PID speed control. This versatile capability supports a wide range of chassis configurations, including mecanum, omnidirectional, Ackermann, and differential drive systems.

Dedicated PWM and serial servo ports
The board features both PWM and serial bus servo ports, making it easy to connect and control articulated robots. This allows for straightforward expansion into complex projects like 5-DOF or 6-DOF robotic arms.

Onboard servo voltage selection
A dual PWM servo voltage switch interface lets you toggle the servo power supply between 5V and the controller's main input voltage using a jumper cap. This design safely accommodates servos with operating voltages ranging from 5V to 8.4V.

Integrated six-axis IMU pose sensor
The onboard IMU allows you to initialize registers and access raw data from its 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer. This provides essential motion and orientation tracking for self-balancing or navigating robots.

Industrial-grade circuit protection
Built-in safeguards protect the controller against reverse connection, overcurrent, overheating, and backflow. These industrial-grade safety features significantly reduce the risk of accidental component damage during prototyping.

Flexible sensor expansion ports
Reserved I2C ports allow you to easily connect advanced modules such as the K210 vision module, line followers, or ultrasonic sensors. These interfaces make it simple to add smart navigation and vision capabilities to your projects.
