Description

The LoRa Radio 915MHz FireBeetle Cover is a compact, long-range wireless transceiver expansion board built around the SX127x chip. Designed for the DFRobot FireBeetle ecosystem and Arduino-compatible setups, it is ideal for makers, students, and developers building battery-efficient Internet of Things networks.

Long-range wireless connectivity

Operating at a typical frequency of 915MHz across a 900MHz to 1000MHz band, the module achieves transmission ranges of up to 1km. It supports LoRa, FSK, GFSK, and OOK modulation schemes with built-in anti-jamming capabilities.

Optimised for low-power deployment

Designed for energy-constrained IoT applications, the module draws less than 15mA during reception and less than 1uA in sleep mode, dipping to under 0.2uA in low-power states. This makes it well suited for remote home automation, telemetry, and wearable devices.

High RF output and sensitivity

An onboard power amplifier delivers adjustable transmission power between -1dBm and 20dBm, paired with a receiving sensitivity down to -139dBm. It features a maximum RSSI of 127dB and supports CRC frequency-hopping for robust link reliability.

Flexible interface and data rates

The board supports maximum data transmission rates of up to 300kbps in FSK mode and 37.5kbps in LoRa mode. It connects via an SPI interface and provides 5 GPIO pins that can be configured for interrupt-driven workflows alongside a 256-byte FIFO buffer.

Included antenna and header kit

Each board is supplied with both standard and long 18-pin 2.54mm headers for versatile stacking onto FireBeetle main boards. A 915MHz IPEX spring antenna and an SMA-KE connector are also included to suit your choice of antenna setup.
