Description
The LoRa Radio 868MHz FireBeetle Cover is a low-power, long-range wireless communication expansion board based on the SX1276 chip. Designed for the DFRobot FireBeetle microcontroller series and compatible with Arduino, it is well suited for makers and engineers developing remote IoT nodes, wearable tech, and automation systems.
Long-range SX1276 wireless transceiver
Equipped with an SX1276 chip and a built-in power amplifier, this module operates across an 800MHz to 900MHz frequency band (868MHz typical) with a transmission range of up to 5km. It features a receiving sensitivity down to -139dBm and an adjustable output power ranging from -1dBm to 20dBm.
Flexible modulation and data rates
The module supports LoRa, FSK, GFSK, and OOK modulation schemes. Data transmission rates reach up to 300Kbps (1.2 to 300Kbps) under FSK and up to 37.5Kbps (0.018 to 37.5Kbps) when using LoRa modulation.
Ultra-low sleep power consumption
Operating at 3.3V, the circuit draws 0.2uA or less in sleep mode, making it suitable for low-power IoT deployments. Active current consumption is rated at up to 120mA for emission and 15mA or less for receiving.
Hardware interfacing and buffer support
Communication with host controllers is handled over an SPI interface, alongside 5 GPIO pins that can serve as interrupt lines. The module incorporates a 256-byte FIFO buffer supporting FIFO and DMA transmission modes, as well as CRC frequency-hopping.
Package contents and hardware accessories
The kit includes the FireBeetle LoRa Radio 868MHz board, standard and long 18-pin 2.54mm headers, dual-row 2x6 pin headers, an 868MHz IPEX spring antenna, and an SMA-KE antenna connector.
