Description
The Gravity CAN to TTL Communication Module provides an accessible bridge between CAN 2.0 networks, UART microcontrollers, and USB interfaces using the SLCAN protocol. Compatible with both 3.3V and 5V systems, it enables seamless data transmission and configuration via straightforward AT commands. It is an ideal tool for robotics enthusiasts, students, and R&D engineers working on intelligent vehicle networks and embedded systems.
Simplified SLCAN command control
The module supports CAN 2.0 communication while managing protocol complexities internally using standard SLCAN AT commands. Users can easily transmit data and adjust settings without writing complex low-level CAN drivers.
Dual USB and UART debugging
An integrated USB 1.0 port sits alongside the standard UART interface, allowing direct connection to a computer for serial assistant debugging without external USB-to-TTL adapters. Configuration parameters are safely retained in memory even after power is disconnected.
High-speed, loss-free transmission
With a configurable CAN baud rate ranging from 25 kbps up to 1 Mbps, the module delivers up to 500 packets per second at 2 ms intervals without packet loss. Default settings operate at 115200 bps on UART and 500 kbps on CAN for dependable performance.
Flexible microcontroller integration
Designed for easy pairing with 3.3V and 5V controllers such as the ESP32-E, the board draws 65 mA operating current and comes with a Gravity-4P sensor cable. It supports multiple programming environments including Arduino C, C++, and standard serial terminals.

Onboard diagnostics and termination
The compact board is fitted with real-time data communication LED indicators and a switchable 120-ohm bus termination resistor jumper. These built-in hardware tools simplify bench testing and on-site troubleshooting.
Robotics and automotive applications
Well-suited for small-scale vehicle illumination control, robotics projects, and prototyping, this module streamlines communication across multi-node CAN networks. It offers makers and development teams an efficient path for learning, product validation, and system integration.
