ESP32-WROOM-32D WiFi & Bluetooth Dual-Mode Module

The ESP32-WROOM-32D is a versatile dual-core microcontroller module combining Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth connectivity on a compact footprint. Designed for makers, students, and engineers, it provides extensive peripheral support for IoT prototypes, smart home devices, and embedded robotics projects.

Dual-core 32-bit processing

Powered by an Xtensa dual-core 32-bit LX6 processor running up to 600 DMIPS, the module features 520 KB SRAM, 448 KB ROM, and 16 KB RTC SRAM. It supports external QSPI memory configurations up to 4 x 16 MB and operates within a 2.2 V to 3.6 V supply range.

Integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2

The module provides built-in Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth/BLE 4.2 connectivity. It integrates the antenna switch, RF balun, power amplifier, low-noise receive amplifier, filters, and power management circuitry on a single board.

Rich peripheral and analogue interfaces

Hardware interfaces include an 18-channel 12-bit SAR ADC, two 8-bit DACs, 10 touch sensors, a Hall sensor, and a temperature sensor. Digital communications are supported by 4x SPI, 3x UART, 2x I2C, 2x I2S, CAN 2.0, Ethernet MAC, and 16-channel LED PWM.

Precision clocks and system timers

Clock sources include calibrated internal 8 MHz and RC oscillators, with support for 2 MHz to 40 MHz external crystals and a 32 kHz RTC crystal. Timing is managed through two 64-bit dual-timer groups, sub-second RTC timers, and dedicated watchdog timers.

Compact form factor and open development

Measuring 18 mm x 25 mm x 3 mm, the module operates reliably across an industrial temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C. Software development is supported through open-source GCC toolchains and SDK firmware for streamlined on-line programming.
