ESP32-S2-WROOM Module (PCB Antenna, 4MB Flash, Wi-Fi & USB OTG)

The ESP32-S2-WROOM is a high-performance Wi-Fi module powered by a 240MHz Xtensa LX7 single-core processor with 4MB of onboard flash storage. Featuring native USB OTG support and an integrated PCB antenna, it is designed for developers, advanced hobbyists, and engineers creating connected IoT and edge-computing applications.

Single-core Xtensa LX7 processing

Running at up to 240MHz, the 32-bit Xtensa LX7 core delivers responsive computing power for real-time sensor processing and edge AI workloads. It comes equipped with 4MB SPI flash, 320KB SRAM, 128KB ROM, and 16KB RTC SRAM.

Integrated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networking

The module features 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi with data transmission speeds up to 150Mbps across the 2412 to 2484MHz operating band. It includes an onboard PCB antenna and supports secure boot, eFuse, and hardware-accelerated AES, SHA, and RSA encryption.

Native USB OTG and expansion pins

An integrated USB 1.1 OTG controller allows the module to act as a USB host or device without dedicated interface chips. Up to 43 GPIOs provide connectivity for SPI, I2C, UART, I2S, PWM, ADC, DAC, capacitive touch, LCD, and camera interfaces.

Low-power modes and battery management

Fine-grained clock gating and dynamic voltage scaling reduce energy consumption for portable hardware designs. Sleep states can be configured with wake-up triggers linked to capacitive touch inputs or RTC threshold events.

Industrial environmental compliance

Engineered for harsh operating conditions, the module functions reliably in ambient temperatures from -40°C to 85°C on a 3.0V to 3.6V power supply. It meets FCC, CE-RED, SRRC, and RoHS compliance standards.

Developer integration requirements

This module is recommended for developer use and requires peripheral circuits to be soldered to the board for deployment. The compact surface-mount footprint measures 18mm by 31mm by 3.3mm.
