Description
The Edge101 is an industrial-grade IoT programmable controller powered by a dual-core ESP32 processor with integrated Ethernet, isolated RS485, and isolated CAN bus interfaces. Enclosed in a rugged protective metal housing, it bridges the gap between rapid ESP32 prototyping and real-world deployment. It is suited for makers, automation engineers, and system integrators building edge gateways, SCADA nodes, and remote monitoring systems.
Dual-core ESP32 processing power
Powered by a 240 MHz dual-core ESP32 processor delivering up to 600 MIPS, the board includes 16MB flash memory and 520KB SRAM. It allows developers to deploy complex edge routines using the familiar ESP32 and Arduino development ecosystems.
Isolated industrial communication buses
Onboard isolated RS485 provides Modbus RTU compatibility, while an isolated CAN bus interface supports robust communication across machinery and automotive networks. Built-in electrical isolation guards internal circuitry against ground loops, lightning, and voltage spikes.
Comprehensive wired and wireless networking
The controller features 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and dual-mode Bluetooth 4.2 with BLE Mesh capability. An onboard PCIe slot and Nano SIM card holder also accommodate optional 4G LTE or NB-IoT modules for wide-area deployments.
Robust enclosure and power protection
Engineered for harsh operating environments from -20°C to +75°C, the device is shielded by a durable metal casing with anti-static and reverse polarity protection. It accepts a wide input voltage range of 9V to 26V DC via terminal block or 5V 2A via USB Type-C.
Versatile I/O and data logging
Peripheral options include 11 native ESP32 GPIOs, 3 dedicated I2C interfaces for sensor integration, and a TF card slot for local data storage and program upgrades. An onboard user button and reset button facilitate immediate local interaction.
Complete installation accessories included
The unit ships with DIN rail mounting clips, universal metal brackets, and M4 fixing screws for straightforward cabinet installation. It also includes an adhesive 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi antenna and a 6-pin 5.08 mm terminal block connector.
