Dagu Spider Robot Controller with ATmega1280 (RS012)

The Dagu Spider Robot Controller is an Arduino-compatible mainboard designed specifically for robotics projects requiring high servo counts, such as hexapods, humanoids, and serpent robots. Powered by an ATmega1280 microcontroller, it can drive up to 48 servos simultaneously while delivering reliable power through an onboard 5V 3A switch-mode regulator. It is an ideal platform for students, makers, and hobbyists building advanced articulated robotic systems.

High-density servo control

The board is equipped with 70 I/O pins terminated with servo-compatible 3-pin male headers and female headers, allowing direct connection for up to 48 servos without extra breakout boards.

Microcontroller and power management

Featuring an ATmega1280 MCU with 128 KB flash memory, 8 KB SRAM, and 4 KB EEPROM, the controller is paired with an onboard 3A, 5V switch-mode power supply that accepts input voltages from 7V to 30V.

Extensive I/O and communication

It offers 16 10-bit analogue inputs, up to 15 PWM outputs depending on servo configuration, 4 hardware serial ports (one linked to the USB interface), and 1 I2C interface for connecting sensors and modules.

Prototyping and compatibility

The board comes pre-installed with the Arduino bootloader, an onboard USB interface, ISP socket, power switch, and reset button. Pin spacing allows custom expansion shields to be constructed using standard prototype PCBs.
