The Bluetooth 5.0 Audio Receiver Board is a compact 30x30mm module designed to stream wireless audio directly to wired speakers or amplifier setups. Powered via micro USB or a 3.7V lithium battery, it offers an accessible solution for makers, students, and hobbyists looking to build custom audio projects or modernize legacy sound systems.

Wireless audio and sound card modes

This compact receiver converts standard speakers into wireless Bluetooth sound systems with automatic reconnection. By bridging the sound card pads on the rear and connecting a micro USB cable to a computer, the board can also function as a dedicated USB sound card.

Simple pairing and visual status

The module enters pairing mode automatically at power-up under the name BT5.0-Audio, accompanied by audio prompt tones. A blue onboard LED provides real-time status feedback, remaining solid when connected and blinking slowly during audio playback.

Broad format decoding and range

Featuring Bluetooth 5.0 with backward compatibility for versions 4.2, 4.1, and 4.0, the module maintains a line-of-sight transmission range of up to 15 metres. It features built-in decoding support for WAV, APE, FLAC, and MP3 audio files.

Flexible power supply options

The board operates from a 3.7V to 5V supply via micro USB or an external 3.7V lithium battery. Because the receiver does not include integrated battery protection circuitry, it is recommended to pair it with a separate LiPo charger module when using battery power.

Handling and installation precautions

Electrostatic discharge precautions must be taken during handling to protect the sensitive Bluetooth chip from static damage. For optimal wireless reception, keep the board clear of metal objects and sources of high-frequency electromagnetic interference.
