Description
The Bluetooth 2.0 Serial Communication Module V3 is a compact wireless serial transceiver powered by the CSR BC417143 chipset and Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR. Designed for transparent UART data links using the Serial Port Profile (SPP), it seamlessly connects microcontrollers to laptops, Bluetooth dongles, and Android devices. It is an ideal wireless cable replacement for students, hobbyists, and educators working on robotics telemetry and remote prototyping.
Robust dual-board construction
A stacked double-board layout improves physical durability and shields delicate components from electrostatic discharge during benchtop wiring. An integrated onboard antenna ensures stable RF transmission across a 20 to 30 metre free-space range without requiring external antennas.
Transparent serial communication
Utilising the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP), the module delivers transparent bidirectional UART communication between microcontrollers and host devices. It supports configurable baud rates from 4800 to 1382400 bps, with a standard factory default of 9600 bps.
Flexible power and hardware configuration
The module supports dual power input options, including a wide 3.5V to 8V DC range alongside a dedicated 3.3V supply. An integrated DIP switch provides instant access to AT command mode for parameter configuration, as well as an LED-off mode for low-power operation.
Clear visual status indicators
Onboard STATE and LINK LEDs offer immediate visual feedback on wireless activity. The STATE indicator uses specific flashing frequencies to signal searching and connection phases, while the LINK LED illuminates steadily once pairing is established.
Versatile embedded compatibility
Operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band with Class 2 transmit power, this module provides reliable short-range data transfer for diverse setups. It is well suited for mobile-controlled robotics, wireless sensor telemetry, and classroom electronics experimentation.
