sheenbot∞ is a coding and robotics board designed and manufactured in Cape Town. Learners start with blocks in a free browser simulator and grow into real hardware and MicroPython — in English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa or Chinese.

Does sheenbot∞ follow CAPS Coding & Robotics?
The lessons and projects map to the three CAPS Coding & Robotics phases: unplugged and simulator work in the Foundation Phase, block coding with sensors in the Intermediate Phase, and robots, data and MicroPython in the Senior Phase. sheenbot∞ is not a Department of Basic Education product.
Do we need a kit for every learner?
No. The block editor and simulator are free in the browser, so learners can practise without hardware, and kits are shared in class. A school can start with one teacher kit and add more later.
What devices do learners need?
A computer running a recent Chrome or Edge browser. Block coding and the 3D simulator run in the browser with nothing to install, so a school lab, a laptop or a Chromebook is enough to start; the simulator needs a browser with WebGL2. To send a program to a board, learners connect over USB, which works on a desktop or laptop, or over Bluetooth, which also works from an Android tablet.
Which languages does the platform support?
English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa and Chinese.
