SparkFun Electric Imp WiFi Development Platform

The SparkFun Electric Imp is an integrated Wi-Fi-enabled development platform powered by an ARM Cortex-M3 processor core in a compact SD card form factor. Cloud-based development

Code is written in Squirrel, a C-like language, using an entirely browser-based integrated development environment. Program your network credentials optically via an iOS or Android smartphone, then push code updates over the air directly to your device.

Powerful processing and connectivity

Featuring an integrated 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi transceiver with a built-in antenna and a Cortex-M3 core, the Electric Imp delivers strong performance with low power consumption. Network security is safeguarded with support for WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption, while all cloud communication travels over TLS.

Flexible peripheral support

The module provides 6 configurable I/O pins under software control, supporting UARTs, I2C, SPI, PWM, analog in and out, and standard GPIOs. Please note that while the Imp shares the physical dimensions of an SD card, it is not compatible with standard SD card slots.
