SparkFun Arduino Pro 328 Microcontroller Board, 5V, 16MHz

The SparkFun Arduino Pro 328 is a compact, low-profile microcontroller board powered by an ATmega328 running at 16MHz. Designed without pre-soldered connectors or an on-board USB interface, it allows you to wire and solder components in any orientation required by your build. It is ideally suited for intermediate makers, hobbyists, and educators creating semi-permanent or battery-powered installations.

Streamlined low-profile design

Built using all surface-mount components on a two-layer PCB, the board leaves connector headers and the DC barrel jack footprint unpopulated to save space and reduce cost. This minimal form factor makes it easy to integrate into tight enclosures and lightweight portable projects.

Off-board USB programming

USB connectivity is managed off-board to keep size down. The pinout connects directly to an FTDI Basic Breakout board to support automatic reset during programming, and standard FTDI cables can also be used.

Power management and built-in protection

The board accepts a DC input between 5V and 12V, regulated down to 5V with a maximum output of 150mA. Built-in protection includes reverse polarity protection, over-current protection, a resettable fuse to guard against shorts, and a sturdy power selection switch that acts as an on/off switch.
