The Hiwonder MentorPi T1 is an advanced ROS2-enabled tank robot car powered by the Raspberry Pi 5, designed for cutting-edge AI and robotics exploration. Equipped with a 3D depth camera, Lidar, and multimodal large language model support, it is the ideal learning and development platform for students, educators, and makers.
High-performance tank chassis platform
Built on a rugged tank chassis, the MentorPi T1 features high-speed closed-loop encoder motors, large-torque servos, and a Raspberry Pi 5 controller. It supports ROS2, YOLOv11 model training for road sign and traffic light detection, and multimodal large AI models for advanced embodied AI applications.

Advanced 3D depth camera
The integrated 3D depth camera processes depth image data to power AI visuals. This enables the robot to perform complex 3D visual mapping, spatial navigation, and object recognition tasks.

Raspberry Pi 5 controller
The robot is powered by a Raspberry Pi 5 controller, providing the processing power required to embark on motion control, machine vision, and OpenCV projects.

Lidar-driven SLAM and navigation
An integrated Lidar sensor enables intelligent SLAM mapping and precise navigation. The robot expertly handles path planning, fixed-point navigation, and real-time dynamic obstacle avoidance.

Closed-loop encoder motors

Natural language semantic understanding
Leveraging a large language model, the MentorPi T1 accurately interprets and analyses user voice commands. This allows the robot to comprehend natural language intent for more intuitive interactions.

Intelligent environmental perception
Powered by a vision language model, the robot interprets physical objects and understands the spatial layout of its environment. It deeply analyses semantic information, including active events and objects within its field of view.
