Description
The ESP32-S3 AI Vision Module is a highly capable, cost-effective camera module designed for advanced computer vision and robotics projects. Powered by a high-performance dual-core processor, it is ideal for South African students, educators, and makers looking to implement face recognition, colour tracking, and wireless video streaming.
Complete AI vision solution
This 2-megapixel camera module is programmed in C/C++ and comes with comprehensive microcontroller routines, schematics, and a Linux environment image. It provides a versatile platform for remote vision development and learning.

High-performance dual-core processing
The module is powered by an ESP32-S3 dual-core Xtensa 32-bit LX7 processor, delivering up to 600DMIPS of computing power. This low-power chip provides the processing performance required for real-time edge AI tasks.

Dual communication interfaces
Featuring both a Type-C serial port and an IIC port, the module supports two communication methods. These interfaces allow the camera to output 3D coordinate parameters for face and colour recognition.

Convenient firmware debugging
The integrated Type-C port allows you to connect the module directly to a computer for quick firmware upgrades and debugging. This connection ensures stable, high-speed data transmission during development.

Durable casing and programmable key
Designed with a compact protective case for enhanced durability, the module also features a custom key. This button can be programmed to trigger specific events or operations, increasing hardware interaction flexibility.

Dual network communication modes
The module supports AP hotspot mode for direct device connection and STA LAN mode for connecting to a local network. Users can access a designated URL over WiFi to stream high-definition live video for AI training and monitoring.

Intelligent vision recognition
The module performs multiple AI tasks including colour recognition and line following. It uses a colour threshold segmentation algorithm to precisely track lines of different colours.

Neural network face recognition
The module employs a lightweight convolutional neural network algorithm to detect and recognise faces within its field of view. This allows for rapid on-device processing and parameter output.
