Description
The DSS-M15S is a high-torque metal-gear servo offering an expanded 270-degree rotation range and integrated analogue voltage feedback. Designed for robotics makers, students, and engineers, it connects directly to microcontrollers for live closed-loop position monitoring. It is ideal for robotic arms, pan-tilt mechanisms, and automated systems requiring dependable positional sensing.
Real-time analogue position feedback
The servo taps into its internal potentiometer to output a 0 to 3.3V analogue signal corresponding to its position. This enables microcontrollers to read the exact angle in real time and execute closed-loop feedback control without external encoders.
Expanded 270-degree rotation range
Offering an extended operating angle of 270 degrees, this servo provides significantly greater reach than standard 180-degree units. This wide motion envelope makes it well suited for steering assemblies and multi-axis articulated joints.
Durable metal gears and dimensions
Constructed with a heavy-duty 310:1 metal gear train, the servo measures 54.5 by 20 by 47.5 mm with a standard 25T (5.80 mm) output spline. It comes wired with a 320 mm 28PVC lead for convenient routing within robot chassis.
High-torque dual-voltage performance
Operating across 4.8V to 7.2V, the motor delivers 11.5 kg.cm of locking torque at 6V with an operating speed of 0.18 sec/60 degrees. At 7V, performance increases to 12 kg.cm locking torque and 0.16 sec/60 degrees under no load.
PWM control and Arduino compatibility
The servo operates via standard RC PWM signals across a 500 to 2500 us pulse range with a 1500 us midpoint. It supports control frequencies from 50 to 330 Hz and integrates seamlessly with standard Arduino Servo library routines.
Included horn and mounting accessories
The package includes a crossed horn, a long straight horn, and a short straight horn to suit various mechanical linkages. It also comes complete with five M2*8 self-tapping screws and gaskets alongside one M3*6 screw for fast installation.
