Description
The Direct-Drive Servo Motor V2.0 integrates an outer rotor brushless motor, a 12-bit encoder, and an FOC servo driver into a compact, low-noise package. By removing the need for a traditional mechanical reducer, it provides responsive and quiet motion control for mobile robotics. It is ideally suited for students, hobbyists, and makers building robot joints, balance cars, and small AGV drive wheels.
Compact integrated direct-drive architecture
By combining the brushless motor, encoder, and driver into a single unit, this servo eliminates the backlash and noise of traditional gearboxes. The direct-drive design achieves low-noise operation of 48 dB or less while delivering responsive speed and position control.

FOC control and built-in protection
Driven by an FOC control algorithm and a high-precision internal sensor, the motor supports Hall position detection and electric braking. The driver includes comprehensive safety mechanisms against over-current, over-temperature, and stall events, capping stall current at 3A or less.

Upgraded V2.0 durability and performance
The V2.0 revision expands the operating voltage range to 11–28V DC and introduces an IPX4 splash-proof rating for damp operating conditions. At a weight of 260g, it provides a rated torque of 0.25 Nm at 98 rpm and a peak stalling torque of 0.85 Nm.

UART telemetry and versatile applications
Real-time bus communication over UART allows controllers to monitor position, speed, current draw, and fault codes directly. This level of feedback makes the actuator well suited for AGV drive wheels, balance platforms, and educational robotics projects.
