Description
The DFRobot 9g 180-degree Clutch Servo is a resilient micro servo motor engineered with mechanical clutch protection and smart electronic stall prevention to eliminate stripped gears and motor burnout. Delivering up to 2.0kgf·cm stall torque at 6.0V, it provides a durable, drop-in upgrade for standard 9g micro servos. It is ideal for STEM classrooms, hobby robotics, hexapods, and interactive maker installations.
Mechanical clutch and electronic stall protection
An internal mechanical clutch safely slips when subjected to external force, protecting gears from stripping before returning the arm to its target angle. In addition, intelligent circuitry monitors the motor and automatically cuts power after five seconds of continuous blockage to prevent overheating.

High torque in a standard 9g footprint
Operating across 4.8V to 6.0V DC, this servo delivers up to 0.55kgf·cm rated torque and 2.0kgf·cm stall torque at 6.0V. The clutch functions as a shock absorber for robot limbs and joint linkages, making it exceptionally reliable for bionic walkers and hexapods.
Standard micro dimensions and accessory set
Featuring a standard micro form factor with a 3mm 40-tooth output gear, this unit fits common mounting brackets and 9g servo mounts. Each unit comes supplied with a full servo horn plate and mounting accessory set for rapid project integration.

Achieving full 180-degree PWM range
The servo supports an operating angle of 180°±10° via standard PWM signals with a pulse width range of 500 to 2500μs. Because the unit has no internal physical stops, it can also be turned smoothly by hand through 360 degrees when unpowered.
Power supply considerations for multi-servo builds
With a stall current of up to 800mA at 6.0V, projects running four or more servos simultaneously benefit from an external 5V or 6V BEC power source. This ensures consistent torque delivery and prevents microcontroller brownouts during peak electrical load.
