Description
The Arduino Opta RS485 is a secure, easy-to-use micro PLC designed for industrial IoT, automation, and predictive maintenance applications. Powered by a dual-core STM32 processor, it combines industrial reliability with standard PLC and Arduino programming environments. It is ideal for automation engineers, students, and makers implementing real-time monitoring and control.
Dual-core processing power
Equipped with an ST STM32H747XI dual-core Cortex-M7 and M4 microcontroller, the Opta performs real-time edge control and predictive maintenance. It includes 1 MB of programming RAM, 2 MB internal flash, and 16 MB of QSPI flash memory.

Flexible PLC programming support
Program using familiar Arduino sketches or the Arduino PLC IDE. The platform supports all five IEC 61131-3 standard languages, including Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, Sequential Function Chart, and Instruction List.
RS-485 and Ethernet communication
This model features half-duplex RS-485 alongside 10/100 Ethernet supporting TCP/IP and Modbus TCP protocols. A USB-C port is available for host/device operations, firmware flashing, and programming.

Industrial inputs and relay outputs
The unit provides eight configurable analog or digital inputs and four normally open relay outputs rated up to 10 A each. It operates on a 12 to 24 V DC power supply and mounts directly to standard DIN rails.
Hardware security and cloud integration
An onboard ATECC608B secure element and X.509 compliance safeguard data from hardware to the cloud. Connect to Arduino Cloud or third-party platforms for real-time dashboards, remote control, and over-the-air firmware updates.
