Description
The 4015 3-Phase Brushless DC Motor is an integrated motion control solution combining a high-torque outer rotor with a factory-fitted AS5600 magnetic encoder. Delivering up to 0.35Nm of torque at 24V, it is engineered for smooth Field-Oriented Control (FOC) and low-noise operation. It is well suited to makers, students, and engineers developing robotic joints, camera gimbals, and precision servo systems.
Integrated 12-bit magnetic encoder
The motor features a built-in AS5600 magnetic encoder offering 12-bit resolution and 0.087-degree angular measurement accuracy. It supports I2C, PWM, and analogue outputs via a GH1.25 4-pin interface, providing high-precision feedback for closed-loop control.
Optimised for Field-Oriented Control
Engineered for FOC vector control, the motor allows independent regulation of magnetic flux and torque to minimise torque ripple. This architecture ensures smooth, quiet, and efficient motion in precision positioning applications.
Hollow-shaft CNC aluminium construction
Built with neodymium iron boron magnets and a CNC-machined aluminium alloy housing, the motor provides high torque density and effective heat dissipation. A 7.5mm central hollow-shaft aperture allows wiring or mechanical shafts to route directly through the centre of the assembly.
Broad open-source software compatibility
The motor integrates seamlessly with the open-source SimpleFOC library, facilitating rapid setup on microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi. This open ecosystem allows makers and researchers to implement advanced motor control algorithms with ease.
Electrical and mechanical ratings
Operating across a DC 12V to 36V range, the motor delivers 1100RPM and 0.35Nm torque at 24V with a 61KV rating and 11 pole pairs. The unit measures 45mm by 26mm overall and operates in temperatures from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
