12V Metal DC Geared Motor with Encoder (131:1, 83RPM, 45Kg.cm)

The 12V Metal DC Geared Motor with Encoder is a heavy-duty drive unit engineered for medium-to-large mobile robotics platforms. Combining a 131:1 metal gearbox with an integrated quadrature encoder, it delivers strong torque alongside precise rotational feedback. It is ideally suited for students, hobbyists, and makers building autonomous rovers and tracked chassis.

High-torque metal gearbox

Built with an all-metal 131:1 reduction gearbox, this motor delivers a stall torque of 45 kg.cm at a no-load speed of 83 RPM. It provides the dependable drive and low-speed torque required for rugged mobile robot chassis.

High-resolution quadrature encoder

The integrated 5V Hall-effect encoder captures 16 counts per revolution at the motor shaft, translating to 2096 counts per revolution at the gearbox output shaft. This high resolution enables accurate closed-loop speed regulation and precise position tracking.

Flexible operating voltage

Optimised for nominal 12V operation with a 350 mA no-load current and 7 A stall current, the motor will begin rotating at voltages as low as 1.0V. This wide voltage range accommodates diverse motor driver configurations and power budgets.

D-shaped shaft and mounting face

The face plate features six M3 threaded mounting holes spaced 15.5mm apart in a hexagonal layout, paired with a 6mm diameter, 0.61-inch D-shaped output shaft. Screws must not penetrate more than 3mm into the faceplate to prevent mechanical interference with internal gears.
