XBee Shield for Arduino

The XBee Shield for Arduino is a stackable wireless expansion board designed to interface standard Bee-format radio modules with Arduino microcontrollers. It provides an accessible hardware solution for students, makers, and engineers developing IoT prototypes, remote telemetry systems, and wireless robotics. Please note that an external Bee-series wireless module is required to establish communication.

Direct Arduino shield integration

Adopting the standard shield form factor, the board stacks directly onto Arduino Uno, Leonardo, and Mega controllers without extra wiring. This direct connection ensures stable electrical contacts and simplifies UART serial deployment across rapid prototyping projects.

Broad Bee-series module compatibility

The onboard XBee socket accepts a wide range of Bee-format communication modules, including ESP8266 WiFi Bee, WiFi Bee, and Bluetooth 2.0/4.0 Bee ready boards. This allows developers to implement WiFi, Bluetooth, or ZigBee networking protocols on a unified hardware base.

Integrated voltage level conversion

Built-in 5V to 3.3V logic level translation circuitry ensures safe, bidirectional communication between 5V Arduino boards and 3.3V wireless modules. This onboard protection removes the need for external level shifters and maintains reliable signal integrity.

Versatile networking and robotics applications

The shield is engineered for diverse embedded systems including distributed wireless sensor networks, telemetry nodes, and remote robotics controls. It also supports gateway bridging setups, such as translating between Bluetooth and WiFi standards.
