Description
The WHEELTEC R680 Auto Outdoor Autonomous Driving Robot is a highly capable, research-grade development platform designed for students, educators, and robotics hobbyists. Supporting advanced Autoware autonomous driving frameworks and multi-sensor fusion, it provides an ideal foundation for campus patrol, last-mile delivery, and mapping applications. Available in both Ackermann steering and brushless four-wheel-drive configurations, this robust platform offers a scalable solution for real-world robotics research.
Advanced autonomous driving integration
The platform is built around the Autoware autonomous driving system, enabling multi-sensor fusion and high-precision positioning and navigation. It serves as an exceptional secondary development platform for outdoor autonomous driving applications. The High-spec Ackermann Pro version provides a robust entry point for advanced research.

Powerful computing and modern frameworks
The Ultra editions upgrade the hardware to an Orin NX Super 16GB main controller, providing massive computational power for complex tasks. On the software side, these editions transition to the modern ROS2 Autoware.Universe framework. This ensures your research is aligned with the latest industry-standard robotics software.

Precision sensing and mapping payload
Each robot is equipped with a nine-axis IMU sensor, a LeiShen Intelligent multi-line LiDAR, and a co-customised Gemini Pro dual depth camera developed with Orbbec. This comprehensive sensor suite enables precise environmental perception and real-time mapping. The Ackermann models feature a steering structure inspired by mass-produced new energy vehicles, while the brushless 4WD version utilises four eight-inch hub motors.

Comprehensive hardware configurations
The platform comes in diverse specifications, with payloads ranging from 25kg up to 60kg and maximum speeds up to 2.1 m/s. Power is supplied by high-capacity 24V LiFePO4 batteries, offering up to 10.5 hours of continuous operation depending on the model. Control interfaces include CAN, serial, and USB, with support for Bluetooth or WiFi app control and multi-mode smart controllers.
