Wheel 42x19mm (Pair)

This pair of 42x19mm wheels is designed for small mobile robotics projects using micro metal gearmotors. Featuring durable rubber tyres and integrated hub teeth for encoder feedback, they are ideal for hobbyists, students, and makers building compact wheeled robots.

Durable plastic and rubber construction

Each custom-designed plastic wheel features a rubber tyre measuring 42 mm (1.65 inches) in diameter. The rugged design ensures reliable traction on standard surfaces for small mobile robots.

Integrated optical encoder teeth

The wheel hub features moulded teeth designed to work with reflectance sensors. This allows you to add optical encoder feedback to track wheel rotation and distance travelled.

Micro metal gearmotor mounting

Micro metal gearmotors should be mounted onto the side of the hub with the protruding teeth. The motor output shaft slides into the socket easily before achieving a secure press fit as it reaches the opposite edge.

Solarbotics motor compatibility

These wheels also accommodate Solarbotics metal gear motors. Because their output shafts are shorter, they must be mounted into the reverse side of the wheel where the fit is tighter.

Mounting bracket requirements

This wheel is specifically designed for use with the extended version of the micro metal gearmotor bracket. Standard non-extended mounting brackets will not provide sufficient clearance.
