Description
The UPS HAT for Raspberry Pi Zero is an uninterruptible power supply expansion shield designed to protect systems from sudden power loss and support mobile computing. Compatible with Raspberry Pi Zero boards as well as Pi 2, 3, and A+, it is an ideal power solution for hobbyists, educators, and field-ready IoT projects.
Uninterruptible power delivery
The shield features automatic charge and recharge path switching to maintain power during mains outages, preventing file corruption and ensuring safe shutdowns. It delivers up to 2A at 5V to power your Raspberry Pi and attached peripherals.
Maxim battery fuel gauge
An onboard Maxim fuel gauge IC measures battery status and communicates detailed level data over the I2C interface. Five onboard LEDs provide an immediate visual indication of remaining battery life.
Integrated circuit protection
The board provides comprehensive protection circuitry, including lithium battery charge and discharge safety, over-temperature protection, and anti-backflow safeguarding for the mainboard power source.
Power and battery connectivity
Power is supplied via a micro-USB port accepting 4.5V to 5.5V inputs with up to 1.6A charging current. Connected 3.7V lithium batteries can be attached using the PH2.0-2P connector or dedicated solder contacts.
Stackable layout and mounting hardware
Standard Raspberry Pi headers allow other add-on boards to be stacked directly on top. The package includes four 14mm double-pass copper pillars, four 4mm single-head copper pillars, and four M2.5 screws to match the 65x30mm board footprint.
