UPS Hat for LattePanda 3 Delta / 2 Alpha / 2 Delta Single Board Computer

The UPS Hat for LattePanda is an uninterruptible power supply expansion module compatible with LattePanda 3 Delta, 2 Alpha, and 2 Delta single-board computers. It provides seamless battery backup using three 18650 lithium-ion cells to protect your operating system and data from sudden power loss. It is an essential add-on for makers, developers, and educators running continuous edge-computing or automation projects.

Flexible dual input interfaces

The module accepts power through either a USB Type-C PD port (15V, 30W or greater) or a standard 5.5x2.1mm DC barrel jack (4.5V to 24V, 30W or greater). It charges installed batteries at a 1A charging current while powering the host development board.

Efficient seamless power failover

When external mains power drops, the UPS Hat automatically switches to battery power without interruption. Because three 18650 cells power the LattePanda directly without energy-consuming buck or boost stages, it delivers up to 8 hours of runtime based on testing with 3400mAh cells on a LattePanda 3 Delta.

Native operating system battery integration

Built-in HID-UPS protocol support allows your operating system to recognise the module as a standard internal laptop battery. Implemented using open-source Arduino code, it enables native power management, automated graceful shutdowns, and customisable charging voltage thresholds.

Direct mounting with thermal clearance

The board slots directly onto the LattePanda header pins, matching the layout of the Type-C, RJ45, and HDMI ports. Extended header pins ensure adequate spacing is maintained between boards for ventilation and heat dissipation.

Battery setup and installation order

The module requires three 3.7V 18650 lithium-ion batteries, which are not included due to transport restrictions. Ensure the UPS Hat is fully plugged into the LattePanda board before inserting the batteries with correct polarity.
