Description
The Smart UPS Expansion Board for LattePanda IOTA provides reliable, uninterruptible power management using three user-supplied 18650 lithium-ion cells. Engineered specifically for the LattePanda IOTA, it ensures continuous operation and data integrity during unexpected power loss. It is an ideal power solution for makers, educators, and engineers developing untethered robotics, portable workstations, and remote IoT hubs.
Native Windows HID-UPS integration
By utilising the standard HID-UPS protocol, this expansion board is automatically recognised as a standard battery in Windows 10 and 11 without custom drivers. Users can monitor battery levels directly from the taskbar and rely on automated native OS power policies such as safe shutdown or sleep mode.
Intelligent hardware-level power management
An onboard three-position DIP switch provides direct hardware control over essential power behaviours. This allows users to configure automatic power-on when external power is restored, graceful system shutdown on power loss, and custom battery charging limits without software dependencies.
High efficiency for extended runtime
The high-efficiency power path minimises conversion losses to extend operational life off the mains. When fitted with three 3500mAh 18650 cells, the module can sustain a LattePanda IOTA for up to 8 hours in portable or off-grid deployments.
Ultra-low power standby mode
Following a system shutdown, the board transitions into an ultra-low-power standby state that draws approximately 30μA of static current. This deep standby protects the health of the 18650 cells and minimises battery drain over prolonged periods of storage.
Flexible charging and board specifications
The unit supports a minimum 36W power input via USB Type-C PD (20V) or a 5.5x2.5mm DC jack (12V to 24V) with a 1A maximum charge current. Measuring 88mm by 70mm, it connects directly to the LattePanda IOTA via an included MX1.25 10-pin cable.
