RT38B01 RS485 Wireless UHF DTU Transceiver Module, 433MHz

The RT38B01 is a UHF data terminal unit (DTU) transceiver module designed for transparent serial data transmission over an RS485 interface. Operating across the 433 MHz to 458.5 MHz range with up to 500 metres open-ground reach, it is ideal for makers, hobbyists, and educators building long-range wireless telemetry systems. It functions similarly to a wireless RS485 bus, supporting both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint topologies.

Long-range wireless serial transmission

The module achieves a transmission distance of up to 500 metres in open areas with an over-the-air data rate from 10 kbps to 100 kbps. It offers an operating frequency range between 433 MHz and 458.5 MHz across 255 channels, with adjustable transmit power up to 100 mW (20 dBm).

Flexible RS485 bus networking

Multiple modules can be deployed together to mirror a physical RS485 bus network. In setups with three or more units, one acts as a master and the remaining modules serve as slaves, enabling seamless transparent data exchange across one-to-one and one-to-many configurations.

AT command configuration

During the first three minutes after power-on, sending the AT+ENABLE=1 command places the device into parameter configuration mode. After this three-minute window expires, the module operates purely in transparent transmission mode to safeguard uninterrupted data flow.
