The RS232 Connector Expansion Shield for LattePanda Alpha and Delta adds a reliable, industrial-grade D-Sub 9-pin serial port to your single-board computer. Powered by an onboard FTDI USB-to-serial chip, it is ideal for makers, engineers, and educators deploying robust point-to-point industrial communications.

Industrial isolation and circuit protection

Equipped with an industrial-grade isolated transceiver module, the shield provides full signal and power isolation with an isolation voltage of 2500VDC. Built-in lightning, surge, bus, and transient impulse voltage protection safeguard your LattePanda mainboard during demanding operations.

Stackable mounting with clear airflow

The board connects directly to the LattePanda using a stackable layout secured by copper standoffs. This configuration fastens securely without blocking the mainboard heat dissipation area or hindering system cooling.

High-speed reliable data communication

Compliant with the EIA/TIA-232-F standard, the shield supports communication baud rates up to 115200 bps for stable data transmission. It operates at 5V across an industrial temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius on both Windows and Linux systems.

Included hardware and accessories

Each unit comes with a female-to-female DB9 adapter alongside three 12mm M3 hexagonal copper columns and six M3 round-head screws. Please note that the expansion interface does not support hot plugging.
