Description
The Raspberry Pi 5 is a next-generation single-board computer powered by a 2.4GHz 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor and 16GB of high-speed LPDDR4X RAM. Built with custom RP1 silicon for expanded I/O bandwidth, dual 4Kp60 HDMI output, and a PCIe 2.0 interface, it delivers desktop-calibre performance. It is an ideal platform for students, makers, and educators tackling demanding robotics, vision processing, and computing projects.
Upgraded processing and graphics
Powered by the Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4GHz, this board delivers a 2 to 3 times uplift in CPU performance compared to the Raspberry Pi 4. An 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU with OpenGL ES 3.1 and Vulkan 1.2 support provides smooth graphics rendering and dual 4Kp60 HDR display output.
Enhanced I/O and RP1 silicon
Featuring in-house RP1 southbridge silicon, peripheral capabilities have been substantially upgraded. The board offers more than double the aggregate USB bandwidth, two 4-lane 1.5Gbps MIPI transceivers supporting any combination of two cameras or displays, doubled peak SD card transfer rates via SDR104 mode, and an exposed single-lane PCIe 2.0 interface.
Power, connectivity, and controls
Connectivity options include Gigabit Ethernet with PoE+ support, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0 with BLE. Power is delivered through a 5V/5A USB-C connection with Power Delivery support, accompanied by a dedicated on-board power button and a real-time clock connector for an external battery.
What is included
The box contains one Raspberry Pi 5 board with 16GB RAM. A suitable USB-C power supply, microSD card, micro HDMI cable, cooler, and enclosure are available separately.
