Description
The MXChip Microsoft Azure IoT Developer Kit is an all-in-one hardware platform designed to build and prototype Internet of Things solutions with Microsoft Azure services. Powered by an ARM Cortex-M4F microcontroller and Cypress-based Wi-Fi, it is ideal for students, makers, and developers looking to connect embedded projects to the cloud using familiar Arduino tools.
ARM Cortex-M4F processing with integrated Wi-Fi
The board is driven by an STM32F412 ARM Cortex-M4F processor paired with an EMW3166 Wi-Fi module containing 256K SRAM and 1MB plus 2MB SPI Flash. It features an onboard DAP Link emulator and USB programming support for streamlined development.
Comprehensive onboard sensor array
A complete suite of integrated sensors is included directly on the board, covering motion, magnetism, atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity. These onboard modules allow you to collect environmental and movement telemetry without needing additional breakout boards.
Audio codec and user interface features
Equipped with an Arduino-compatible audio codec, microphone, and earphone socket, the kit easily handles voice interaction projects. A 128x64 OLED screen, two programmable buttons, an RGB LED, and an infrared emitter provide diverse input and output options.
Dedicated hardware security and cloud indicators
An onboard security encryption chip safeguards data transmission when interfacing with Microsoft Azure cloud architecture. Dedicated status LEDs give immediate visual feedback on Wi-Fi connectivity, Azure service states, and system testing.
Kit contents and expansion options
The package includes the MXChip Azure IoT board, four anti-slip rubber pads, and a MicroUSB cable. External prototyping is supported via an edge-connector finger extension interface and 3.3V DC-DC power delivering up to 1.5A.
