Description
The micro:Maqueen Plus V2 is an advanced STEAM educational robotics platform designed for use with BBC micro:bit V1 and V2 boards. It is built for primary and secondary students, educators, and makers tackling classroom coding, after-school projects, and robotics competitions.
HuskyLens AI camera integration
The platform is fully compatible with the HuskyLens AI sensor, allowing students to implement machine vision tasks such as facial recognition and object tracking. It mounts neatly to the chassis while interfacing directly through the onboard expansion headers.

Mechanical kit compatibility
A larger vehicle body provides dedicated mounting points for Maqueen Mechanic add-on kits. This allows learners to convert the mobile platform into complex mechanical configurations such as loaders or cranes for extended engineering lessons.

Wireless gamepad control
Combined with a micro:bit-powered gamepad, the robot can be operated remotely for interactive driving tests and competitive tasks. This configuration allows direct control of the drive motors and attached mechanical accessories.

Quick start with integrated peripherals
The vehicle body arrives with motors, wheels, and battery panel pre-installed so programming in MakeCode or Mind+ can begin immediately. Built-in hardware includes dual N20 all-metal gear motors, an SR04 ultrasonic sensor, IR receiver, buzzer, two front LEDs, and four RGB ambient base lights.

Five-sensor line tracking
Five calibrated line-tracking sensors provide reliable track detection and simplified algorithm programming compared to earlier editions. Single-key calibration allows quick adjustments to ambient lighting and varying line surfaces using the supplied track map.
Extensive IO expansion ports
The expansion board provides seven 3.3V IO ports, three 5V IO ports, two 3.3V I2C ports, and one 5V I2C interface for connecting additional sensors and actuators. A frosted acrylic plate protects the underside electronics, and the chassis is powered by four AA alkaline or 1.2V Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.
