Description
The micro:Maqueen Plus V2 (18650 Battery) Bundle is a comprehensive STEAM robotics kit powered by the BBC micro:bit. Designed for primary and secondary classrooms, robotics competitions, and makers, this kit includes the upgraded vehicle chassis, two micro:bit V2 boards, a wireless gamepad, and the multi-configuration Mechanic kit.
Complete robotic expansion set
This complete educational package pairs the Maqueen Plus V2 platform with two micro:bit V2 boards and a wireless gamepad for remote operation. It also includes the Maqueen Mechanic kit with two 9g servos, allowing learners to construct forklift, loader, beetle, and pusher configurations.
Optimised line-tracking and obstacle detection
The chassis features five line-tracking sensors with one-key calibration for simplified route coding and competition navigation. An easily installed SR04 ultrasonic sensor provides distance measuring, supported by an integrated infrared receiver and buzzer.
Rechargeable 18650 power management
Equipped with an onboard charging circuit, the chassis runs on a single 3.6V or 3.7V 18650 lithium battery (available separately). It charges via either Type-C or Micro-USB interfaces in approximately four hours.
Rich IO and sensor expansion
The board breaks out seven 3.3V IO pins, three 5V IO pins, two 3.3V I2C ports, and one 5V I2C port. This layout allows direct connectivity for hardware upgrades such as the HuskyLens AI vision sensor.
Durable hardware and lighting
Two N20 all-metal gear motors deliver smooth driving, protected underneath by a frosted acrylic plate. Visual feedback is provided by two large front LED headlights and four base-mounted RGB ambient lights.
Accessible graphical programming
The robot supports block-based and text-based coding via Microsoft MakeCode and Mind+. It comes packaged in a deep-base storage box designed to house the fully assembled car between lessons.
