Description
The micro: Maqueen Lite is a compact STEAM educational robot platform designed to introduce students aged eight and up to coding and robotics. Supplied with a micro:bit V2 board and an infrared remote controller, it provides an accessible, plug-and-play learning tool for classrooms, makers, and young hobbyists.
Intuitive graphical and Python programming
Maqueen is fully compatible with Microsoft MakeCode and DFRobot Mind+ graphical programming environments. It allows learners to quickly grasp coding logic through visual blocks before advancing to text-based Python programming.
Metal gear motors and POM wheels
The robot is driven by twin N20 all-metal miniature gear motors using PWM control for reliable speed and torque. Customised POM bearing wheels deliver smooth mobility and solid obstacle-crossing performance.
Onboard sensors and rich audiovisuals
The chassis features two infrared line-tracking sensors, an infrared receiver with NEC decoding, and an integrated buzzer. Visual output includes two front LED lights and four bottom-mounted RGB ambient lights capable of producing 16 million colours.
Comprehensive hardware expansion options
Equipped with a 5V ultrasonic interface for SR04/SR04P sensors, an I2C port, and three Gravity extension pins (P0, P1, and P2), the board easily supports extra modules. Six M3 screw mounting holes provide anchor points for mechanical brackets and add-ons.
Complete kit contents and power supply
The package includes the Maqueen robot platform, a micro:bit V2 board, an IR remote controller, a line-tracking test map, and a 2-in-1 USB cable. Power is supplied using either three AAA batteries or a 3.6V to 3.7V lithium battery (batteries available separately).
