Description
The Max:bot DIY Programmable Robot Kit is an entry-level educational smart car designed for learners aged eight and older. Powered by the included BBC micro:bit, it provides a hands-on introduction to coding, electronics, and mechanical assembly.
Durable aluminium chassis
The kit features a sturdy aluminium structure that learners assemble themselves using the included tools and hardware. This hands-on mechanical build provides practical engineering experience while creating a resilient platform for robotics experiments.

Modular sensors and expansion options
Max:bot includes more than ten electronic modules, such as ultrasonic distance sensors, three-way line trackers, collision sensors, speakers, and RGB light strips. The system can be extended further with over 50 DFRobot Boson modules for custom inventions.

Multi-language micro:bit coding
Driven by the micro:bit platform, Max:bot can be programmed using MakeCode block editor, Scratch, Python, or JavaScript. Software compatibility extends across PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices to suit diverse learning environments.

Autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance
Using its onboard sensor suite, the robot can follow line tracks, chase light, avoid gaps, detect edges, and bypass obstacles. It is also capable of remote-controlled operation and inter-robot communication.

Structured educational course materials
Detailed instructional materials guide students step-by-step through practical projects, from playing tunes and distance sensing to navigating courses. The curriculum prepares students for classroom STEM learning and robotics competitions.
