The Hiwonder SpiderPi is an advanced, AI-powered hexapod robot designed for students, educators, and robotics hobbyists looking to explore complex motion control and machine vision. Powered by a Raspberry Pi, this programmable spider robot offers a robust platform for learning Python, OpenCV, and deep learning.
Python programming and motion control
The SpiderPi features intelligent serial bus servos with 20kg of torque, programmable using Python. It serves as an ideal platform for research into hexapod motion control, machine vision, and deep learning.

Wide-angle high-definition camera
Equipped with a 2DOF HD wide-angle camera, the robot offers a broad visual recognition range. The camera supports manual focusing, allowing you to easily adjust the clarity for different vision tasks.

Raspberry Pi processing power
Driven by a Raspberry Pi 4B or 5 controller, the SpiderPi dynamically adjusts its body attitude in real time. Comprehensive course materials are provided to help you quickly start with motion control, machine vision, and OpenCV projects.

Real-time target tracking
Using OpenCV for image processing, the SpiderPi can locate the position of a target pellet. It processes this visual data to track the target in real time.

Visual line following
The robot identifies black, white, and red lines using OpenCV to calculate their position. It automatically adjusts its walking posture based on the line position to achieve precise visual line following.
Intelligent transport and gait switching
The SpiderPi uses visual recognition to determine the distance of an item and independently switches its gait accordingly. It can then transport the target item and place it at a designated tag.

Customisable tag recognition
The robot performs specific actions based on the tags it recognises. In addition to the provided tags, you can easily program your own custom tags and corresponding actions.

OpenCV face recognition
By loading a trained face detection model with OpenCV, the SpiderPi can identify human faces. Once a face is recognised, the robot is programmed to execute a friendly greeting action.
