Description
The Gravity: RS485 IO Expansion Shield for Arduino combines standard sensor breakout capabilities with industrial and wireless communication interfaces. It provides makers, educators, and robotics developers with a reliable platform to connect sensors, radio modules, and motor hardware to an Arduino controller.
Standard Gravity sensor interface
The board features colour-coded pin headers that match the Gravity interface standard. This allows rapid, error-free connection to hundreds of compatible sensors, modules, and accessories.
Industrial RS485 and wireless communication
Integrated hardware supports long-distance RS485 communication, including compatibility with devices such as the URM04 ultrasonic sensor. The onboard headers also support Xbee, Xbee Pro, Bluetooth Bee, and APC220 radio communication modules.
Separate servo power input
A dedicated external power terminal is provided to power connected servos independently. This ensures high-load actuators do not cause voltage drops or system resets on the main Arduino board.
SD card expansion support
The shield includes dedicated connections for SD card read and write modules. This makes it straightforward to log sensor data and manage local file storage within your project.
