Description

The Gravity: IO Shield for FireBeetle 2 is an expansion board engineered specifically for the FireBeetle 2 series, including the ESP32-E and M0. It provides effortless plug-and-play connectivity for DFRobot Gravity sensors and peripherals without requiring any soldering. This shield is ideal for students, makers, and educators prototyping compact IoT and robotics projects.

Dedicated FireBeetle 2 compatibility

This expansion shield is built specifically for FireBeetle 2 controllers such as the M0 and ESP32-E, breaking out all board pins to female headers. It is not suitable for original first-generation FireBeetle boards.

Solderless Gravity peripheral connection

Connect a wide variety of DFRobot Gravity sensors and modules instantly using standardised pinouts. The plug-and-play design eliminates the need for breadboards and soldering during prototyping.

Comprehensive IO pin breakout

The shield exposes 12 digital IO pins (GP0-3, GP5-7, GP9-13), 5 analog IO pins (A0-A4), 1 UART interface, 1 SPI interface, and 3 parallel I2C ports. This versatile pinout simplifies the integration of complex sensor arrays.

Integrated GDI display port

An onboard GDI connector provides a direct interface for DFRobot GDI series display screens. This allows fast screen hookup without consuming extra wiring lines.

External power and control

Featuring a 3.3V to 5.5V PH2.0 power port, the shield is well-suited for portable battery-powered setups. It also includes an EN pin to switch off power delivery to the main controller board when required.

Compact footprint

With board dimensions of 60 x 25.4 mm, the shield maintains a streamlined profile that fits neatly into space-constrained enclosures.
