Description

The Gravity: IO Expansion Shield for LattePanda V1 breaks out the single-board computer's onboard microcontroller into standardised Gravity 3-pin interfaces. Designed specifically for LattePanda V1 platforms, it provides a clean hardware interface for students, makers, and developers connecting sensors and actuators without messy wiring. Please note that this shield is not compatible with LattePanda Alpha or Delta models.

The expansion shield routes the onboard Arduino Leonardo-compatible microcontroller into 14 digital and 6 analog Gravity 3-pin ports, complete with dedicated power, ground, and signal lines. It also provides two dedicated I2C interfaces and an ICSP header for expanded peripheral communication.

High-current power distribution

A wide 7–12V input range is supported via either a DC 2.1mm jack or a 2-pin terminal block, delivering up to 5A on the 5V rail and 1A on the 3.3V rail. Because the power terminals are connected internally, do not attach multiple external power sources simultaneously or use USB power while external 7–12V power is active.

Designed to sit directly onto the LattePanda V1, the 70mm x 68mm board retains open access to existing ports while powering connected modules. This setup streamlines robotics builds, embedded computing setups, and educational electronics labs.

Onboard prototyping grid

An integrated 8x8 prototyping area with standard 2.54mm hole spacing offers dedicated space for soldering custom circuits and passive components. This allows makers to incorporate non-standard hardware directly onto the shield alongside standard Gravity modules.
