Description
The FireBeetle 2 ESP32-E is an ultra-low-power IoT microcontroller board powered by the ESP-WROOM-32E dual-core processor with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It features an onboard lithium battery charging circuit, dedicated GDI display interface, and rich peripheral connections. This board is suited to makers, students, and engineers developing smart home setups, wearables, and connected IoT prototypes.
Dual-core processing and wireless connectivity
Powered by the ESP-WROOM-32E module with a 240 MHz dual-core 32-bit LX6 processor, the board includes 520 KB SRAM and 4 MB Flash memory. It provides wireless communication through 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n up to 150 Mbps) and Bluetooth 4.2 BR/EDR and BLE.
Integrated board layout and display port
The 25.4 mm by 60 mm board includes a dedicated GDI display port for direct screen connections and an onboard WS2812 RGB LED. Its stamp-hole edge design allows it to be soldered directly onto custom carrier boards for prototyping.

Rich peripheral pinout
The module provides 18 digital pins, 11 analog inputs, 7 touch sensor pins, and 16 LED PWM channels. Hardware communication interfaces include two UART channels, one SPI, one I2C, one I2S, and two DAC outputs.

Flexible power and battery charging
Power can be supplied via the USB-C port, a 5V VCC pin, or a 3.7V to 4.2V lithium battery through the PH2.0 connector. An onboard charging circuit manages connected Li-ion cells, with operating power consumption reaching as low as 2 mA.
Software support and hardware compatibility
The board supports the Arduino development environment, with planned support for MicroPython and Scratch graphical programming. Note that FireBeetle 2 pinouts and dimensions differ from the original FireBeetle series, making earlier expansion boards incompatible.
