Description
The FireBeetle 2 ESP32-S3-U is a high-performance AIoT development board powered by an Xtensa dual-core LX7 processor with hardware AI acceleration, 16MB Flash, and 8MB PSRAM. Supplied with an external antenna and a detachable camera module, it is ideal for makers, students, and engineers building vision-based smart devices and edge computing projects.
Dedicated camera interface and vision support
The board features an onboard camera connector paired with an independent power supply circuit to minimise electrical noise during capture. It includes an OV2640 camera module delivering 2-megapixel resolution with a 68-degree field of view for image capture and recognition.

Real-time image and video transmission
High-bandwidth 2.4GHz Wi-Fi enables efficient wireless transmission of still frames and video feeds to local servers or cloud dashboards. This facilitates remote monitoring, automated entry detection, and event reporting in smart home systems.

Hardware AI acceleration and large memory
The 240MHz dual-core processor includes vector instructions tailored for neural network computing and signal processing workloads. With 16MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM, the board provides ample storage for local offline models, speech recognition, and facial comparison databases.

Versatile wireless and mesh networking
The module supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 5 (LE) alongside Bluetooth Mesh and Espressif Wi-Fi Mesh for extensive network coverage. Compatibility with the Matter standard allows straightforward integration into unified smart home ecosystems.
Onboard GDI port and battery charging
An integrated GDI display interface simplifies screen connections without messy point-to-point wiring, while 26 digital I/O pins provide expansive peripheral connectivity. Built-in lithium-ion battery management allows direct charging at up to 1A alongside hardware power control.
Flexible development and software support
The board is fully compatible with Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF, and MicroPython, enabling programming in both C/C++ and Python. This wide toolchain support simplifies prototyping and speeds up deployment across diverse IoT applications.
