Description

The ESP32-C6-DevKitC-1-N8 is an entry-level development board powered by the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1 module with 8 MB SPI flash. Offering multi-protocol Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5 LE, Zigbee 3.0, and Thread 1.3 connectivity, it provides students, hobbyists, and engineers with a versatile foundation for smart home and IoT projects.

Multi-protocol wireless connectivity

The board supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5 (LE), Zigbee 3.0, and Thread 1.3 via an on-board PCB antenna. This multi-standard radio support enables straightforward integration into modern smart home ecosystems and mesh networks.

Multi-protocol wireless connectivity

32-bit RISC-V processor

Driven by a single-core 32-bit RISC-V CPU running at up to 160 MHz, the chip includes 320 KB ROM, 512 KB HP SRAM, 16 KB LP SRAM, and 8 MB SPI flash. A low-power co-processor allows continuous peripheral monitoring while the main CPU core is powered off.

Comprehensive on-board hardware

The board features an addressable RGB LED connected to GPIO8, a 3.3 V power indicator, independent Boot and Reset buttons, and a dedicated J5 current measurement header. An on-board 5 V to 3.3 V LDO regulator delivers stable operating voltage across industrial temperature ranges from -40 to 85°C.

Dual USB Type-C ports

Two separate USB Type-C connectors are available for power, flashing, and testing. One port links to an on-board USB-to-UART bridge supporting speeds up to 3 Mbps, while the native ESP32-C6 USB 2.0 full-speed port provides direct communication up to 12 Mbps.

Breadboard-compatible GPIO headers

All available general-purpose I/O pins are broken out to standard dual-row pin headers along the sides of the board. This layout simplifies breadboard mounting and rapid hardware expansion for external sensors and actuators.
